Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Optivane LLC, a limited liability company formed in North Carolina, United States, for your use of the Alpha Lifts app and the website at alpha-lifts.com. By creating an account or using Alpha Lifts, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use it.
How your data is handled is covered separately in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
The free features stay free
Everything Alpha Lifts lists as free on the date above is free, for everyone, permanently. That means the plan builder and the proven programs, unlimited logging and full workout history, the exercise library, all the progress analytics, body tracking, progress photos, nutrition check-ins, periodization, cloud sync, backup, and CSV export.
It is not a trial. It does not expire. There is no cap on your history, no paywall in front of your own data, and no account that will lose a feature it already has. We will not move any of it behind a payment later, for you or for anyone else.
If we build something genuinely new in future, that new thing might be paid. Nothing that is free today will become paid. This commitment is not subject to the “Changes to these terms” section below: it can be made stronger, never weaker.
Who can use Alpha Lifts
You must be 16 or over. You need an account to sync across devices and to use the AI Coach. Keep your password to yourself, use an email address you actually control, and tell us at support@alpha-lifts.com if you think someone else has got into your account. An account is for one person.
Training is physical, and this is not medical advice
Read this part properly, because it is the one that can actually hurt you.
Alpha Lifts builds training plans, suggests weights, and tells you when to add load. It is software. It has never met you, it cannot see your form, and it does not know your medical history, your injuries, or how you slept. Everything it produces, including everything the AI Coach says, is general information about training and not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or physiotherapy.
Lifting weights carries a real risk of injury. You take that risk on yourself. Talk to a doctor before you start training, especially if you are pregnant, recovering from an injury or surgery, have a heart condition, or have any reason to think exercise might be unsafe for you. Warm up. Use a spotter or safety pins for heavy work. If something hurts in a way that is not ordinary training effort, stop, and see a professional rather than asking the app.
You decide what you lift. A number on a screen is a suggestion, and you are free to ignore it, and you should ignore it when your body says so.
The AI Coach
The AI Coach is an optional paid feature. It reads your program, your history, and your logged numbers so it can answer questions and propose changes to your plan. Proposals are only ever proposals: nothing changes in your program until you tap Apply.
Its answers are generated by an AI model, which means they can be wrong, out of date, or inconsistent between one message and the next. Treat it as a knowledgeable training partner who is sometimes mistaken, not as an authority. It is not a substitute for a qualified coach, a physiotherapist, or a doctor. The health and safety terms above apply to everything it tells you.
Coach usage is metered so that one account cannot exhaust the service for everyone. If you hit a limit we will say so in the app.
Paying for the AI Coach
The AI Coach is sold as a subscription through Google Play. Google takes the payment, and Google Play’s own terms apply to the transaction alongside these ones. We never see or hold your card details.
The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You cancel it in Google Play, under Payments and subscriptions, not in Alpha Lifts, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than ending the period you have already paid for. Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play’s refund policy. If something has gone genuinely wrong, email support@alpha-lifts.com and we will help you sort it out with them.
If the price ever changes, Google will tell you before it takes effect and ask you to accept it. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and it never affects the free features.
If your subscription lapses, you keep everything free. You do not lose your history, your programs, or your data. You lose access to the Coach, and nothing else.
Your data is yours
Your workouts, programs, measurements, photos, and notes belong to you. We do not claim any ownership of them, and we do not use them to train AI models.
To run the service we need your permission to store your data, sync it between your devices, and send the parts the Coach needs to answer you. That permission is limited to operating Alpha Lifts for you, and it ends when you delete your data. You can export your full history to CSV at any time, and you can delete everything as described in the privacy policy.
Plan share links
If you create a link to share a training plan, anyone who has that link can open it and read the plan without signing in. Treat it like a public page and send it only to people you mean to send it to. You are responsible for what you put in a plan you share.
Using it fairly
Do not use Alpha Lifts to break the law, to harass anyone, or to try to get the Coach to produce harmful content. Do not scrape it, resell it, or run it as a service for other people. Do not try to break, overload, or work around the limits of our servers, and do not use anyone else’s account. Share your own account with nobody.
If you break these terms in a way that harms other users or the service, we may suspend or close your account. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.
Other people’s services
Alpha Lifts works with Google Play for payment, with Health Connect on Android if you turn it on, and with Anthropic’s Claude API to generate Coach responses. Those services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for how they behave. Exercise videos in the library are hosted by third parties and subject to theirs.
Availability, and things changing
We will try to keep Alpha Lifts running and working well, but we do not promise it will always be available or always be free of faults. Features change. Some get better, some get replaced, and occasionally something gets removed, though never a free feature, as set out above.
If we ever have to shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your data before we do.
Ending it
You can stop using Alpha Lifts whenever you like, and delete your account and everything in it from Settings. If you have a Coach subscription, cancel it in Google Play as well, because deleting an account does not cancel a Google subscription for you.
What we are and are not responsible for
Alpha Lifts is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not make promises that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost profits.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty US dollars.
None of this limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Nothing in these terms takes away consumer rights you have under the law of the country you live in that cannot be given up.
If something goes wrong between us
Email support@alpha-lifts.com first and give us 30 days to put it right. Most things can be sorted out this way, and it costs neither of us anything to try.
If that does not work, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in North Carolina. There is no arbitration clause and no class action waiver in these terms. If you live somewhere whose law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own local courts, that right is untouched.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, the “Last updated” date above changes with them, and if the change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Carrying on using Alpha Lifts after that means you accept the new version.
The one exception is the free-features commitment above, which does not change. It is the reason a lot of people are here.
The rest of it
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce something straight away, that does not mean we have given it up. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about Alpha Lifts. You may not transfer them to anyone else; we may transfer them if the business is sold, and the free-features commitment transfers with them.
